Cana Caramel Sauce
Can I share a secret with you? I LOVE CARAMEL! That’s right and that is what motivated me to make this very delicious Cana Caramel Sauce. I tried making several different recipes and found that most of them were a bit on the salty side.
My favorite way to use this is in a hot apple cider next to a bon fire. It also tastes great with green apples, ice cream, and hot chocolate.
Preparation :: 5 minutes
Cooking time :: 7 minutes
Total Yield :: 2/3 cup
Number of servings :: 2
Serving size :: 1/3 cup
mg per serving :: ~25mg
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or infused butter for a higher kick)
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Unwind Your Mind Cooking Oil
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Whisk together the heavy cream, Unwind Your Mind Cooking Oil and vanilla extract. You will not need to heat this, just leave on counter until ready to use.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, mix the sugar and water. Bring to a boil and cook until the sugar has dissolved. Reduce heat to a simmer and mix in butter. You will simmer until mixture reaches a nice deep caramel color. This will not take much time so do not walk away!
Once the sugar, water and butter mixture reaches the desired color, remove from heat, and carefully whisk in the heavy cream combination. YOUR MIXTURE WILL BUBBLE UP. This is normal. Just keep whisking until all ingredients are combined.
Pour into heat safe container and be sure to label it!
Store in refrigerator.
